Here is your chance to hear a little more about the Economy of the State of Colorado. Jason Schrock will be speaking to the AACEI RMS April Meeting on April 17, 2008..

Jason Schrock has been one of the Colorado General Assembly’s economists since 2005. He works for the Legislative Council Staff, the General Assembly’s nonpartisan research and support staff. Jason's primary job responsibilities include analyzing and forecasting the Colorado economy, forecasting state government revenue, analyzing the fiscal impacts of legislative bills, and educating legislators and the public about the state budget and fiscal issues facing the state. He also researches a variety of issues of interest to legislators, primarily related to economics and tax policy. In addition, he has staffed the legislature’s Senate Committee on Finance and special committees that convene to study various issues. Prior to his current position, he worked on the General Assembly's research and committee staff for four years. He received his Masters of Public Policy in 2001 from the University of Denver.

Jason is a member of the Denver Association of Business Economists and participates in the annual University of Colorado Business Economic Outlook Forum which provides a forecast for the state's economy for the upcoming year. Jason has been married for eight years and has a four-year-old son and two-year-old daughter.

Jason plans to speak about the condition of the state economy, including providing information on various sectors of the economy, such as the housing and job markets and consumer spending. He will also discuss how his office projects the economic welfare of the next year or so. In doing so, he will also touch a little on the national economy.
